Scott’s Profile

Born 29th May 1974 in Shrewsbury in England, Scott played amateur golf for England but decided to represent Scotland, the country of his father, when he turned professional in 1996. Scott is a hard working professional who works tirelessly to improve and develop his game, Scott’s balanced game and technical ability alongside his trustworthy personality builds confidence in others and would provide a powerful marketing tool.

In the early years of his professional career Scott spent a good deal of his time on the second tier Challenge Tour.

In 2004 he claimed a surprise win in the prestigious Volvo PGA Championship, which catapulted him 340 places, from 435th to 95th in the world rankings, and gave him a five year exemption on the European Tour where he ended the season in 23rd place on the Order of Merit, and was selected as the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year.

Scott Drummond -18

The main photo to the right shows an ecstatic Scott Drummond after sinking his birdie putt at the 17th to move into the outright lead ahead of playing partner Angel Cabrera at -17. Scott also birdied the last hole to clich a two stroke victory and can be seen all smiles with the trophy in the bottom right picture. It was his first victory on the full European tour and earned him a massive 625,000 euros (£419,778) – somewhat dwarving the 54,147 euros that he had earned in his previous 26 tour events! With his victory Scott also became the first man since the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1975 to lift the trophy at his first attempt. It was also a wonderful birthday present for Drummond who had turned 30 the previous day. The sequence of photos down the left hand side show Scott – sporting his waterproof top during a downpour – on the 6th fairway.
